They are fine if you just want to try out flamenco style dance and aren't sure you want to invest in a more expensive pair. There isn't a right or left one (which is usually specified on more professional castanets) and they are a bit thick if that makes sense. It's like the domes curve out a bit more than the professional styles do, so after a while, they feel a bit awkward. Also, the strings slide a bit when in use. You'll probably need to change them if you decide you want to keep them for a while.
I'm going to keep mine for any friends who feel like coming to my flamenco dance for fun - but who obviously, won't want to invest in castanets for a one time experience. That's why I got these! They are inexpensive and satisfactory for the amount of money I paid.
